Later on, Deepak Punia defeated Ekerekerne Agiarnar of Nigeria 12-1 in the Men’s freestyle 86kg 1/8 final and then beat Zushen Lin of China 6-3 to also book his place in the semi-final. Neeraj Chopra handed India a good start to Day 12 of the Tokyo Olympics as he booked his spot in the men’s javelin throw final without any fuss, his first attempt throw of 86.65m was enough for him to qualify.
