India has lifted SAFF Under-18 Football Championship 2019. India defeated Bangladesh 2-1 in the final in Kathmandu this evening. 

Just second minute of the game Vikram Pratap Singh scored first goal for India. Bangladesh’s Yeasin scored equaliser in 40 minute. In the half time both teams were 1-1. 

In second half India and Bangladesh tired hard but could not succeed. Within first minute of injury time Ravi Bahadur Rana scored second and decisive goal for India to lift third edition of the tournament. 

India’s Ninthoinganba Meetei was declared Most Valuable Player of the championship. 

This is India’s maiden SAFF U-18 trophy. India remained runners up in 2015 and finished third in 2017. 

Host Nepal had lifted earlier two editions of the Championship but could not qualify for semi finals this time.
