Sachin Tendulkar turned 47 on Friday with wishes pouring in from all parts of the globe for the cricket legend.

The legendary Indian batsman was the definition of cricket for many across the world during his decorated 24-year international career. Sachin Tendulkar made his debut at the young age of 16 against Pakistan and went on to become one of world’s iconic cricketers. His voracious appetite of scoring runs and breaking records also drew comparisons to Australian great Don Bradman.

Regarded as one of the most complete batsman in the history of the game, Tendulkar holds almost all batting records which exists at the moment.

On November 16, 2013, Tendulkar bid a tearful adieu to his international career following a Test match against the West Indies in his home state Mumbai. He contributed a fluent 74 runs during that match which India won by an innings and 126 runs.
