Amitabh Bachchan donates Rs 51 lakh for Assam floods, asks followers to contribute to CM Relief Fund
After Akshay Kumar, it is Amitabh Bachchan who contibuted for Assam floods. The actor donated Rs 51 lakh to Assam’s Chief Minister’s Relief Fund for the victims of the floods.
Assam’s Chief Minister Sarbanand Sonowal took to Twitter to thank Bachchan for his contibution. He wrote, “We appreciate Shri Amitabh Bachchan ji for contributing Rs. 51 lakh to Chief Minister’s Relief Fund. This is a great gesture & show of care for the people. Thank you, on behalf of the people of Assam, for your support. @SrBachchan (sic).”
The Mulk actor shared the tweet and urged his followers to contribute to the relief fund. He wrote, “Assam is in distress .. the floods have caused great damage .. send care and assistance for our brothers and sisters .. contribute generously to the CM Relief Fund .. I just did .. HAVE YOU ..? (sic)”
Amitabh Bachchan is not the only celebrity who has come forward to help the flood victims. Earlier, Akshay Kumar donated Rs 1 crore each to Chief Minister’s Relief Fund and Kaziranga National Park as aid for Assam floods.
Sprinter Hima Das, who is on a gold winning spree these days, had also announced that she has donated half of her month’s salary the relief fund. She urged corporates and her follower’s to contribute to the CM’s Relief Fund.
