Due to the incidents of violence that have been taking place in West Bengal during the ongoing elections, West Bengal’s Central Police Observer, Vivek Dubey on Thursday held a meeting with senior officials in Medinipur to take stock of the security requirements there.

After the meeting, Dubey said that voting is the right of every citizen and the central government is taking every necessary step to ensure that the elections are conducted in a smooth and effective manner.

He said 740 companies of central forces will be deployed for 6th phase. He also urged officials to ensure threat free and fair polls in the state. 

Polling will be held in Tamluk, Kanthi, Gathal, Jhargram, Medinipur, Purulia, Bankura and Bishnupur constituencies on Sunday.
